VIRTIA.
THE PERFECT WORLD

BARTLETT SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE. MARCH CINEMATIC AND VIDEOGAME ARCHITECTURE ACADEMIC WORK

Virtia offers a sharp critique of the social media economy through an allegorical lens, exploring the commodification of human interactions, attention, and data

HAIR HARVESTING FACILITIES

Inspired by utopian and dystopian visions, the project features three symbolic environments— the Desert of Dreams, Forest of Wisdom, and Lagoon of Love—creating the digital world of Virtia, where hair serves as the central currency.

In Virtia, strands of hair are  grown, harvested, and traded in a volatile digital market. Every interaction, every glance, and every moment of attention fuels an economy built on addiction and control. As society obsesses over accumulation, the film follows a single strand’s journey—from its meticulous production to its manipulation in a high-stakes power struggle. Under constant surveillance, the line between personal freedom and economic necessity blurs, revealing the precarious foundation of Virtia’s social media-driven world.

HAIR STORAGE FIELDS

Due to the current limitations of technology, accurately and ealistically replicating hair strands in the digital world remains a significant and resource intensive challenge. Hair, with its complex structure, intricate movement, and unique interaction with light, presents a demanding task for digital artists and animators.

THE PRIEST OF THE ORDER OF SOCIAL GOOD

Characters in Virtia reflect social media tropes and psychological archetypes, offering a critique of the complex and often problematic nature of social media in contemporary society.

THE TELEPATH’S THRONE ROOM

THE TROLLS HABITAT

Virtia, in this context, is a realm where the architecture and objects transcend mere functionality, offering a profound critique of the opacity embedded within social media structures.

THE MARKET

The Market serves as a dynamic and multifaceted representation of the ever-evolving social media feed, a digital landscape that is continuously reshaped by a relentless flow of advertisements and the diverse array of characters who inhabit it.

THE MODERATOR

The Market symbolises not just a platform for economic transactions, but a broader cultural arena where identities are constructed, social hierarchies are negotiated, and collective values are both challenged and reaffirmed.

THE LABORATORY OF TASTE

HIGH CUISINE RESTAURANT/MUSEUM
LOCATION: LYON, FRANCE

The passageway becomes an architectural trigger that opens a discourse not of food and consumption, but of taste and event.

THE TASTING ROOM

Upon entering the fig and fois gras room the diner realises the room is less of a room and more of podium. A small platform sits in the centre of the room surrounded by a shallow pool of water.

BREAD AND BUTTER ROOM

Melting walls meet rising floors. The kiln becomes a known mantlepiece vernacular within the space that softens to a creamy architecture. Copper columns hold the spread.

THE WINE BAR

Eventually the bread cracks and opens to a velvet space. The diner is absorbed in wine-stained walls that leave the eyes drunk from chamfered pattern.

CHAMPAGNE FLUTE

High polished chrome, patinaed bronze  and handblown glass champagne flute.
The diner becomes a voyer in a museum dedicated to taste, context and the doctrine of fine dining.

MANA’ORA

BUSINESS PROJECT DEVELOPMENT: WELL-BEING CLUB
LOCATION: SOCHI, RUSSIA

I successfully developed this well-being club over the past year and a half. As both owner and designer I was responsible for the concept design stage, through to full interior design including furniture and lighting strategies. I successfully navigated material and labour supply chains within a Russian context to deliver the project. I developed the PR and marketing strategies both for online and offline presences. Given my skills in graphic design I created the branding. I sourced and trained all staff members to deliver a unique luxury experience to our clients. After overseeing the launch I maintained my role managing the business in day to day operations, keeping track of current trends within the high end spa and well-being space, to ensure MANA’ORA’s success as a premier luxury well-being club in Sochi.
