Title: Round In Circles

This work responds to Peter Cook’s Hotspot (2022), an “operational hall of columns”,(Cook, 2026, p.110) by looking back to Bulgakov’s short story Diaboliad (1924), an absurd satire of an oppressive regime, that also leverages a fictional ‘hall of columns’ motif. My response visualises bureaucratic control as a speculative architectural environment, reflecting on the hall in Hotspot and its “overtones of aggressive presence.” (Cook, 2026, p.110)
